Visas to Paraguay  

VISAS ON ARRIVAL

If you are a citizen from any of the six (6) countries listed below AND you are entering Paraguay via the main international airport SILVIO PETTIROSSI in Asunción, you can obtain a tourist VISA ON ARRIVAL. 
 
Requirements:

  • A passport valid for at least six (6) months
  • Payment of the corresponding visa fee in US$ and in cash only (see below).  Cheques or credit cards are not accepted

The SILVIO PETTIROSSI airport in Asunción is the ONLY port of entry into Paraguay that offers the VISA ON ARRIVAL facility.  If you are entering Paraguay from a land/water border crossing or are landing at an international airport other than the SILVIO PETTIROSSI in Asunción, you MUST obtain a visa before you travel.
                                                       
Citizens from countries other than the six (6) listed above, who need a visa to enter Paraguay, must obtain their visas before travelling to Paraguay regardless of their port of entry into the country.

Upon arrival in Paraguay, Australian and New Zealand citizens get granted a Multiple Entry 90-day stay. 



APPLYING FOR A TOURIST VISA AT OUR EMBASSY

AUSTRALIAN CITIZENS

Tourist Visa Requirements

  • Please submit the following to our embassy in person, or by Registered Post*:

    • A passport valid for at least six (6) months following your departure date from Australia.  Make sure your Passport has enough blank visa pages as the Paraguay visa takes up 2 (two) facing pages
    • Fill in the Tourist Visa Application Form, and sign it. Please print neatly using black or blue ink
    • Two (2) recent colour Passport size photographs on white background
    • Travel itinerary
    • Proof of payment of the corresponding visa fee (see below)
    • *A pre-paid, self-addressed Registered Post envelope to enable us to return your Passport once the visa has been issued, if applying by Post.  Please detach the tracking number sticker from the envelope before sending it, and keep it for your records

    Tourist Visa Fee:

    Australian citizens (adults or minors): US$135 

    Payment must be made in person at any Commonwealth Bank branch into the Embassy’s USD account:

    The Commonwealth Bank accepts:

    1. Cash Deposit: You are not required to pay any fees for this transaction, simply provide the campaign code “EMB016”to your local Commonwealth Bank Branch to have your fee waived, or 2. Commonwealth Bank Account Transfer Instructions

    The Commonwealth Bank does not accept:

    1. International tranfers, or
    2. Telegraphic transfers to our USD account as payment

    WE DO NOT ACCEPT ANY TYPES OF CHEQUES (NOT EVEN BANK CHEQUES) NOR MONEY ORDERS

    The visa processing time is approximately one (1) week.  Visas are valid for six (6) months from the date of issue, that is, applicants have a period of six (6) months to enter Paraguay. Please take this into account when booking your trip.  Upon arrival in Paraguay, Australian citizens get granted a Multiple Entry 90-day stay. 

 

NEW ZEALAND CITIZENS

Tourist Visa Requirements

 Please submit the following to our embassy in person, or by Courier*:

  • A passport valid for at least six (6) months following your departure date from New Zealand.  Make sure your Passport has enough blank visa pages as the Paraguay visa takes up 2 (two) facing pages
  • Fill in the Tourist Visa Application Form, and sign it. Please print neatly using black or blue ink
  • Two (2) recent colour Passport size photographs on white background
  • Travel itinerary
  • Proof of payment of the corresponding visa fee
  • *A pre-paid, self-addressed Courier envelope to enable us to return your Passport once the visa has been issued, if applying by Courier.  Please ensure the Courier company supplies us with ALL the shipping paperwork that is required (consignment notes, airway bill numbers, etc.) already printed and ready to go, as we do not print them at the embassy.

New Zealand citizens (adults or minors)

For international remitters, payment must be made in US$ by depositing it to the Embassy´s US$ Bank Account:

When making an international funds transfer, the bank will charge you a fee AND will deduct a fee at our end. You must pay upfront ALL bank fees and ensure we receive the exact amount, as we cannot process visas until full payment has been received.

Tourist Visa Requirements  

  • Same as for Australian or New Zealand citizens, plus proof of residency or legal status in Australia or New Zealand

Citizens from countries other than Australia or New Zealand: US$100



MINORS UNDER THE AGE OF 18 (ALL NATIONALITIES)

Tourist Visa Requirements

  • Same as above, plus the Birth Certificate of the minor, and a Travel Consent Order notarized by a Notary Public and Apostilled by DFAT (if in Australia) or MFAT (if in New Zealand) together with copies of both parents´ ID, if the minor is travelling either alone or with only one of his/her parents, or with a guardian other than the parents.   The Tourist Visa Application Form must be signed by both parents.

 

 

OFFICIAL OR BUSINESS VISAS (ALL NATIONALITIES)

  • Same as for Australian or New Zealand citizens, plus a letter from the relevant institution or organization outlining the reasons for the trip
