SPECIAL OR GENERAL POWER OF ATTORNEY (POA)

The individual(s) must come personally to the Consular Office, to request this document.

Requirements:

  1. Application form completed and signed by the petitioner(s).
  2. Draft of the power of attorney signed by the petitioner(s). A public Notary or Lawyer from Paraguay must write the preliminary form or draft because it must contain the necessary terms for its validity in Paraguay.
  3. Copy of the identity documents of the principal or grantor.
  4. Copy of the identity document of the attorney-in-fact (or agent). In case that this attorney-in-fact is a Lawyer, the professional must be register in the Supreme Court of Justice of Paraguay and must submit a copy of his registration Identification card.
  5. The person(s) must sign the document in the presence of the consular officer.

FEES

Special Power of Attorney fee is USD 95.00.

General Power Attorney fee is USD 115.00.

The payment must be made in money order or cashier's check payable to the CONSULATE OF PARAGUAY. Personal and company checks are not accepted. Please note that the payments must be in US Dollars.

Note: The Powers of Attorney granted by this Consulate, must be legalized by The Department of Legalization of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Asunción

(Paraguay) and later registered in the Public Register of Powers of Attorney of Paraguay.

TRAVEL PERMIT FOR MINORS

The travel permit will be granted to underage of Paraguayan nationality traveling to Paraguay in the company of just one parent, alone or with a third party. Parents must come in person to the Consulate to apply for it.

Requirements:

  1. Application form of the travel permit completed and signed by the interested party.
  2. Original birth certificate of the child.
  3. ID card of the minor.
  4. ID Cards of both parents.
  5. In case of absence of one of the parents, the other must present the original notarized authorization for it.

FEES

Travel Permit fee is USD 30.00.

The payment must be made in Money Order or Cashier's Check payable to the CONSULATE OF PARAGUAY. Cash, Credit Cards and Personal checks are not accepted.

Note: This travel permit issued by the Consular Office DOES NOT authorize the departure of the child from the Paraguayan territory. In that case, the corresponding judicial authorization, legalized by the Paraguayan authorities and Apostilled/legalized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Paraguay, will be necessary.

CERTIFICATE OF LIFE AND RESIDENCE

The Consular Office may issue this certificate to Paraguayan citizens or their spouses, to be submitted to public or private offices in Paraguay that require it. The interested individual must personally attend to the Consular Office to request this certificate.

Requirements:

  1. The application form completed and signed by the interested party.
  2. ID Cards of the applicant.
  3. Document justifying its legal domicile in the United States

FEES

The Certificate fee is USD 30.00. The payment must be made in money order or cashier's check payable to the CONSULATE OF PARAGUAY. Personal and company checks are not accepted.

Note: The Certificate of Life and Residence must be legalized by the Department of Legalization of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Asunción for validity in Paraguay.

DRIVER’S LICENSE TRANSLATION

The applicant must attend personally to the consular office.

Requirements:

  1. Application form completed and signed by the interested party.
  2. ID card of the applicant.
  3. Paraguayan driver's license to be translated.

FEES

Driver License Translation fee is USD 35.00.

The payment must be made in money order or cashier's check payable to the CONSULATE OF PARAGUAY. Cash, Credit Cards and Personal checks are not accepted.

ASSISTANCE TO PARAGUAYAN COMMUNITIES ABROAD

The Consular Office assists foreign migrants abroad who are in vulnerable situation. The interested party must come personally to the Consulate to make a request for assistance.

Requirements:

  • Identity document of the Paraguayan national.
  • One (1) photo passport size with a white background.
  • Document proving the assistance requested.
  • Social Report issued by the Consular Office.
