Cultural Promotion

Paraguay, the country of ñandutí and the coconut flower, of the orange blossom and yerba mate has a history based on the fusion of two cultures and traditions: The European (Spanish) and Guaraní. A result of this cultural syncretism is the bilingualism seen today, as more than 80% of Paraguayans speak Spanish and Guarani, and most speak Jopara, which is the mixture of both languages.

In music, literature and daily life, Guarani is present as a basic element of Paraguayan culture. In addition to literary manifestations, Guarani culture has also left its traces in other artistic expressions such as theater, music, painting and sculpture, of great national and international artists, which can be experienced by tourists in museums, auditoriums and art galleries.
