Ambassador Gustavo Alfredo Leite Gusinky
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Paraguay to the United States of America.
Ambassador Leite holds a Master’s Degree in International Marketing from Strathclyde University in Glasgow (British Council Scholar) and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of California at Irvine and Chapman University.
He has extensive experience in both the public and private sectors. In Paraguay, he served as Minister of Industry and Trade (2013–2018), Executive Secretary of the Technical Planning Secretariat (1998–1999), and Director General of ProParaguay (1992–1994). He was also elected National Senator (2023–2028), where he chaired the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and various parliamentary caucuses.
Internationally, he represented Paraguay as First Secretary at the Embassy to the European Economic Community in Brussels (1989–1992) and is a senior negotiator in multiple international trade and investment agreements.
In the private sector, he has worked in agricultural development, real estate, and international consulting, including projects with the World Bank, SGS International, and the U.S. Trade and Development Agency.
Ambassador Leite speaks Spanish, English, French, Portuguese, and Guaraní. He has been recognized with the Order of the Great Cord (Republic of China, 1999) and has lectured at prestigious institutions, including Sciences Po Paris.
